September Meeting!

 

Our new season is nigh! We meet again on Tuesday Sept 8 at 7 pm, at the River Gardens Retirement Residence, Celebration Room. Bring a friend! 

We'll be hearing from Candice Alviz, the owner of Sew Bake Make, a sewing company based in Ontario. She'll be sharing a trunk show of her pattern samples and talking about running a successful sewing pattern/workshop business. We look forward to hearing more about Canadian sewing resources right down the road!  

Candice will present between 7-8, and the second half of the meeting is our regular Sew & Tell and business meeting. Bring your toonies for the 50-50 and please wear a nametag if you have one. At the beginning of a new season it's great to let newcomers get to know us a little more easily. See you there! 

New Season Ahead!

 

It's just about time for our new season to begin! Heads up that membership for new members is $40/year, Sept-June. If you are a returning member and you want to pay ahead you can do so -- early bird rates (before our first meeting) are $35/year. 

Here's what is coming for the first half of our new season: 

Sept 8: Candice Alviz of Sew Bake Make will be presenting a trunk show and talk about her business and patterns

Oct 6 (note that this meeting has been moved to the FIRST Tuesday of Oct, not the second): We will be taking a little road trip to the Stratford Public Library to get an overview of MakerSpace tools for sewists, and getting the chance to create a set of 3D printed buttons!

Nov 10: Bonnie Glass, founder of the Wearable Art Show, will give us a trunk show of some of her fabulous outfits & share her sewing journey. 

Dec 8: Holiday Get Together! Potluck, sewcializing and crafting together with your fellow members.
